Senator Barrett Met With Constituents in Lincoln
Approximately 55 Lincoln residents, including town board members, and officials from Waltham, Bedford and Lexington came together to meet with Senator Mike Barrett. Here’s our summary of what was covered:

In her April 4, 2023, Letters from an American, Heather Cox Richardson identified the "huge story" of the day coming from Wisconsin where voters elected Janet Protasiewicz to the Wisconsin Supreme Court by a ten-point margin. Her election switches the political orientation of the court for the first time in 15 years.
Lincoln Precinct 2’s State Representative Alice Peisch Meets with Constituents
On the evening of Monday, April 3, thirty-four Lincoln residents came to the Tarbell Room of the Library to meet Precinct 2’s State Representative, Alice Peisch. Rep. Peisch continues to represent Wellesley, Weston and has since redistricting, added Precinct 2 Lincoln to the 14th Norfolk district. Rep. Reisch articulated her primary areas of focus and fielded questions from the attendees.
Lincoln Democratic Town Committee Announces Change of Officials
The Lincoln Democratic Town Committee (LDTC) welcomes Travis Roland as new co-chair of our committee. He will join Joan Kimball who will continue as co-Chair. The LDTC is a town committee and a grassroots organization composed of Lincoln Democrats that support Democratic values of inclusion, fairness, opportunity and justice for all.

Women’s Reproductive Rights-and More-Under Threat
In a 5-to-4 vote on September 1, the Supreme Court allowed Texas to put into place the most restrictive abortion law in the nation. It bans abortions, with no exception for rape or incest, as early as the sixth week in a pregnancy based on the presence of a fetal heartbeat. Furthermore, the law empowers citizens to sue those who perform an abortion or anyone who aids and abets the procedure. If successful, the individual pursuing the lawsuit can receive $10,000. Are not such vigilante tactics encouraging citizens to enforce the law a form of bounty hunting?
