Honoring Officer Sicknick

Submitted by Travis Roland

The Lincoln Town Democrat Committee recognizes the valiant service of Officer Brian Sicknick whose life came to a violent end during the Capitol insurrection on January 6th.

Mr. Sicknick was a military veteran and family man, and was a member of the Capitol Police for 10 years prior to the events that took his life. Although the main instigator, Donald Trump, has not expressed any sympathy or reached out to his loved ones, his family can rest assure that his service to this country will not be forgotten by those who care about upholding the Constitution, and the peaceful transfer of power.

The LTDC also would like to recognize Mr. Sicknick’s fellow officers who rose to the occasion that day, and remembered their oath to serve and protect, especially the dozens who were injured, some serious, as well as those who contracted Covid-19 that day.

January 6th will take its place as a ‘Day that will live in Infamy’ and will be a permanent stain on our history, and Donald Trump’s legacy. Let us do our best to right the ship, and try to unite our country to what it once was.
