Check out this awesome article that gives a window onto some of the momentum that stirs within the LincolnDems and pushes outward
… like a big blue wave! …
and, here is some other stuff we’ve done over the years—afterall, preserving democracy is a marathon, not a sprint!
#1 Supporting a Blue Wave
Organized carpools to write postcards, text, and canvas with our partners Minuteman Indivisible, Concord Indivisible, and Swing Left in adjacent swing states. In 2018, our support helped Jared Golden win in Maine.
#2 Supporting Election Integrity
Collected signatures to get Ranked Choice Voting on the 2020 Ballet. (It’s on the ballot!)
#3 Raising Awareness on Impacts of a Border Wall
Informed the public about the environmental impacts of building a border wall along Mexico by screening the the film “The River and the Wall.” Discussion followed.
#4 Demonstrating for Climate Justice
Co-sponsored attendance at the Boston Climate Strike by arranging a gathering at the Lincoln Train Station. This huge effort has drawn attention to climate change.
#5 Advocating for Reproductive Rights
Supported MA Legislators in amending laws to promote women’s reproductive health
#6 Supporting Immigration Reform
Supported legislation at the state house to allow drivers licenses for all residents regardless of their immigration status.
#7 Supporting a Blue Wave: taking back the White House and Congress
Sent out 1000 postcards with the Lincoln Grandmothers for a Brighter Future, a close partner of the LDTC, to support Andy Brashear the Democratic Candidate for Governor in Kentucky. He won by 5000 votes. Not only did the group want Andy Brashear to win, but also wanted to get out the vote. Stacy Abrams later wrote that the vote in Kentucky was 50% higher in this election. Postcards matter especially in close races. In 2018, the partnership sent out 5000 postcards to swing states, helping to elect senators in Arizona and Nevada.
